Rajamuthu SRINIVASAN
Dr. Rajamuthu SRINIVASAN is a Veterinary Biotechnologist and a qualified toxicologist (UKRT) with extensive experience in the safety assessment of biologicals particularly vaccines. He holds the degree in Veterinary Science and further obtained his Master’s degree specialized in Animal Biotechnology from TamilNadu University of Veterinary and Agricultural Science, India. He has around 20 years of experience in toxicology, worked as Study Director for the GLP regulatory general toxicology studies of pesticides, small molecules and biologics including vaccines in OECD and AAALAC accredited preclinical contract research organisations. He joined Sanofi India as a Nonclinical Safety Lead for New Vaccines (India) programs and provided toxicology support for the clinical development and licensure of the pediatric vaccines. Additionally, he managed a team of scientists designated to design and conduct the preclinical immunogenicity and potency studies of vaccines.
At present, Rajamuthu occupies the position as Senior Toxicologist in the Research and Development at Sanofi based in Marcy L’Etoile, France. In this role, he establishes toxicology strategy to support the New Vaccine progression through R&D stages up to licensure and post-licensing, conduct toxicology risk assessments and act as Subject Matter Expert to represent Sanofi in external discussions with regulatory authorities or in consortiums. He is also involved in devising New Approach Methodologies to reduce the animal footprints in the vaccine development through internal and external collaborations.
